Privacy, in plain language.

This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. “I” and “me” refer to Mimi Phan; “the site” refers to mimiphan.xyz.

The guiding principle is simple: collect as little as possible, be transparent about it, and never sell it.

• Contact form: your name, email address, and the message you send — so I can reply.
• Newsletter: your email address, if you choose to subscribe to new essays.
• Automatic/usage data: standard, largely anonymous information your browser sends (e.g., approximate region, device/browser type, pages viewed) used only to keep the site healthy and understand what's read.

I do not ask for sensitive personal information, and please don't include any in the contact form.

• To respond to your message or inquiry.
• To send newsletter essays you subscribed to (and nothing else).
• To operate, maintain, and improve the site.
• To meet legal obligations, if they ever apply.

I don't sell or rent your information. I rely on a small set of service providers to operate the site:

• Resend — delivers contact-form emails and stores newsletter subscribers.
• Calendly — if you book a call, your scheduling details are handled by Calendly.
• Hosting/infrastructure — serves the website and may process basic request logs.

Each handles data under its own privacy terms. I may also disclose information if required by law.

This site avoids advertising and cross-site tracking cookies. Any analytics used are limited to aggregate, privacy-respecting measurement (visit counts, popular pages). I don't build advertising profiles about you.

• Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up.
• Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time.
• Usage data is retained briefly in aggregate.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Regardless of location, you can always:

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
• Request access or deletion of the information I hold — just reach out via the contact page.

I take reasonable measures to protect your information and work with established providers. That said, no transmission or storage method is completely secure, so please avoid sending confidential or sensitive details through the site.

The site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
